One week more

Chillin@Starbucks

Awaiting for the end of next week for my semester break. I need a rest from college badly!

Happy Code

Exams after exams have been keeping me occupied for the past few weeks. There isn't much time to catch a breath at all in this course I'm taking. I had thoughts of blogging daily however I know that I won't be able to do so as my day starts at 6am and towards midnight 80% of the stuff I do is related to college. I don't want blogging to be part of a burden to me, after all, it should be something I enjoy, isn't it? :)

I barely go out on weekends nowadays. So far I had only gone out for shopping once after college started.

Photos in this post were taken on labour day; you can tell how long they've been postponed before I had time to post them up.

That day I took the opportunity to dress up a little bit more. Oh boy, you don't know how much I enjoyed that! College fashion is simple and comfortable. Even if I did dress up, I still felt that something was lack, haha! I usually put on light makeup to college given the time constrain every morning, I'm sure many face that right?

If you have the choice of choosing one makeup product to use, what would it be?

I would choose BB cream for now as my skin condition is not very well yet. However, if my skin gets better, I would choose eyeliner instead! (^^)

I miss those days when I had ample of free time to do whatever I wanted to do. Nowadays I have college stirring around my brain most of the time. I'm envious of those college or university students whose courses are not as bulked up as mine as they still get to do things they enjoy. Momentarily I do wonder that if I had chosen the right course. It's not that I dislike the course, but I felt that I wanted something more than just books and notes.

What can I do? I still have to go through this for the remaining 5 months. It should be alright if I can still set myself straight to my goal. The funny thing is, I find pleasure in ticking off each days that has passed. I felt a sense of relieve and achievement when I see that I have manage through my course for such period of time already.

Every time I tell someone that my course is around 7 months long, and after deducting the holidays, weekends and examination days it's about 4 months plus it had never failed to surprise them. It is really sped up, I admit so but I am not the first batch to go through this express course, there were many who went through this too and excelled.

A goofy picture with my brother (^^)

College friends are pretty okay for now. There are some people I enjoy chatting with and I find enjoyment through so. My classmates crack jokes all the time and I sometimes laugh to myself while reminiscing my daily thoughts.

However, there are times when people get too reliable on me, I get rather uneasy and irritated. I am a little selfish sometimes but I try to help when I can. When a question is asked repeatedly over and over again, I can't help but to reject them. What had been bothering me lately is that my classmates tend to over rely on me during psychology quizzes. Honestly, it was my smart idea (although I wouldn't call it that smart anymore) to start up the quiz. I only wanted more social interaction with my classmates but never would I have thought that people will get over dependent on me as I tend to get almost every question answered correct. The outcome is that I felt that I was the only one doing the quiz in my group sometimes, and that makes me really depressed. :'(

I sincerely hope that other classmates will be able to catch up with the subjects and be able to answer the questions too. I will feel really happy if it's them who answers the questions instead of me. :)

Things that makes me happy the most now are my family and my cats. I love them so much and it really relieves my stress when I interact with them. Of course, they do give me stress sometimes but when you love something, that feeling would overcome the negative feelings. (^^)

It's a rather long and wordy post since it's a huge sum up of what I felt recently. If I had had more time to blog, daily posts of what I feel would've been shorter instead, haha!

One Piece's Chopper Nail Art Tutorial

One Piece fans are gonna love this tutorial! :D

Ita-nails (痛ネイル) are currently booming with popularity in Japan. It means nails decorated with anime nail art. Isn't that awesome??? \(^V^)/

My favourite Ita-nails artist is Nakayama Chieko-sensei! Her nail arts never fails to amaze me! She does nail art for celebrities and models such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, ReNo, Mapipi and many more!

Today's tutorial will be a simple Ita-nail nail art of Chopper from One Piece! Ita-nails might look complicated to draw but they are actually pretty easy. If you have watched videos on youtube on how to draw anime using digital art, you'll find the steps pretty similar then! (^^) Basically, it's just layering one step after another.

What you'll need are:
❤ Base Coat
❤ Nail varnish of desired colour
❤ Acrylic Paint
❤ Fine tip brushes
❤ Top Coat

1. First of all, you'll need to apply one layer of Base Coat then two layers of nail varnish like how you will usually paint your nails. Remember to let the previous layer dry before applying another layer!

2. Using Acrylic Paint, paint the body and head of Chopper. Then, add on its hat and cape. Once you're done, you can mix a darker pink tone for the shading and paint wherever necessary. Next, paint on the eyes, nose and mouth and the X on it's hat.

My tip for nail art is to practice before you draw onto your own nails. Whether it's on a paper or better still, on false nail tips, once you've got the hang of it it'll be a breeze! (^^)

3. With a firm hand, line where necessary with black and add in the final details such as eyes and facial features. Finish it up with top coat and you're done!

If you're wondering why I used acrylic paint instead of nail polish for nail art, that's because acrylic paint do not dry as fast as nail polish do. When nail polish dries, you'll get a gooey texture which makes it hard to do any nail art. However, if you're only doing dotting designs it's still fine to use nail polish but be sure to be quick! Trust me, using acrylic paint will enable you to create more designs! (^^)v

I had the nail art on for a week and it lasted pretty well! Everyone who saw it was amazed when I told them it was drawn on! I feel really happy when someone notices my little effort on small details like this! (^^) I enjoy drawing nail art but sadly I can never draw them on my right hand (T T) Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to request for nail art tutorials!

Tested out my webcam today!

College life had been busy lately! Don't worry, I'm not stressed out at all about the amount of work given everyday. I somehow manage to clear them off hahaha!

I hadn't had enough sleep last night as I was woken up several times by my cats which ran around my room and over me while I was sleeping. Lack of sleep makes me really gloomy and down. D: Good things happened today though! My english teacher surprised us with a home baked chocolate cake! She's a serious aura all the time so we were really taken aback by her kindness!

Anyways, I just got my new laptop the previous weekend and I'm really happy to be able to own a laptop of my own! Not needing to share it with others and having absolute private in things I do (I don't mean dirty stuff in case your thoughts went sideways XD). I'm a rather shy person and I hardly ever blog in front of my family members even though my mom knew the existence of this blog, haha!

It's weird that I don't mind people who are close to me to read my blog but I get really uneasy when someone is watching me editing the photos and typing out my blog content. I'm sure some of you can relate to that, can't you?

I had been trying to make friends for the past two weeks. I pretty much talked to most of my classmates and made some friends in the progress, however it seem to me that I still haven't found a group to settle with. Finding friends is not that easy. You find someone which you think is good, yet after some while you find that both of you can't click with each other.

And that progress just have to go on and on until you find someone trustable.

But of course, there are some friends who stick to me (^^;) I like it though, somehow, even it may annoy me sometimes as they 'bombard' me with lots of questions as I feel that I get to learn at the same time. Keeping my mindset positive and being less selfish helps a lot in socializing with others.

Making friends in college is part of college life experience. Keeping your mindset at your college goal and having fun at the same time is important. I always feel that people whom you meet at various stages of your life has a meaning to it. People don't just appear out of the blue you see, even if they may not be the ones that you click with but if you think carefully, these people will help you grow mentally too. And I am grateful to have meet them.

I must admit that it feels really good to allocate some time daily and just pour out my feelings in text. I may not be close to my readers at a personal level, but it always makes me feel good to know that there at at least some people who are reading my feelings. I really appreciate all your support! Every comment makes me smile and they always lighten up my mood no matter how short they are. Thank you :)

EOS Fuzzy Petal Pink review

What's better than wearing PINK lenses for this Sakura season?

Mukuchu has recently sent me a pair of EOS Fuzzy Petal Pink lenses and they are really pretty! :D It's my first time wearing pink lenses so I was really excited to try them on!

Indoor lightning

These pink lenses are so eye captivating! If you have darker eye make up, they would stand out even more! I think they are perfect for parties, a night out with your friends or for those who wants to focus attention on their eyes! :D

Close up

I wore them for around 10 hours and they only got a little dry and uncomfortable after my classes. It's inadvisable to wear lenses for excess long hours but I have to get ready at 6am every morning and only take them off in the car ride home which is around 4pm. I hate taking out my lenses halfway throughout the day if I still can tolerate the dryness but these are still pretty alright compared to some which made my vision blur and uncomfortable. #vain

MATERIALS: 2Hema

Colour/design: ★★★★
These light pink lenses are unique in terms of colour however the design is not much to be impressed about. As most lenses, they have a black outer rim for a dolly effect but they can look mesmerizing as well. However, because it stands out a lot, these might be unsuitable for those who wants a more subtle effect.

Comfort: ★★★★
I feel that they are really comfortable and I had no problem wearing them for long hours. Even while looking at presentation slides for a long period of time, they still feel comfortable while worn, in fact, I sometimes forget that I even had them on!

Enlargement: ★★
Yes, these do enlarge your eyes as most lenses do. For dolly eyes enlargement, I would say that they are slightly lacking in that part. Yet, as these have a black outer rim, they can still give an illusion of enlargement. To me, these lenses aren't about enlarging your eyes, but they capture attention to your eyes and creates a mesmerizing effect.

I would recommend these lenses for those who wants their eyes to stand out. I really love these because of how it differs from the usual, yes, I like to stand out XD Comfort is a must to me for lenses as I tend to wear them for long hours so if that doesn't satisfy me, I would simply put them away until they are expired lol! But who doesn't want their lenses to be comfortable? I can't stand blinking the whole day and making my eyes suffer. > <

College Life

The blog is not dead yet! I'm sorry that there hasn't been any updates for the past month. Let's just say that I was pretty occupied with college preparation.

Our orientation was on April Fool's itself but gladly no one played any tricks on me :D It was a really fun orientation but as soon as I reached home and had dinner, my body laid itself on the bed and when I was awake again it was the next morning already.

There are lots of activities going on at Taylors College all the time, so it's not just bland college life filled with studies. We even had a class party last friday! But it was meant to break the ice between ourselves since it's still our first week. (^^;) I really do hope that we will have more class activities together, after all it should be fun having new friends in college even though we're only going to be studying together for 7 months... (._.) Yeah, that's right, I'm taking an express SAM programme so I foresee a huge load of tasks to be completed.

To be honest, the speed we're studying at is just right for me! I think that if we had been taking it really slow like the January intakes, I would've been lazing around most of the time by now. But getting things done asap is my virtue!

My aim in college? To score well and get into university and making as much friends as possible!

I'm tired of being introversive all the time when I was in secondary school. Unable to express myself or give opinions due to extreme shyness and lack of confidence made me really depressed deep inside. But I thought, why would I want to keep quiet when I am given the right to express myself? What is wrong with speaking up? I realised that all these while I had been sitting down and waiting for others to approach me to talk but why did't I take the initiative to voice out instead? I aim for a change this year!

Anyways, I do realise that as college start, I'd probably be blogging much lesser. It breaks my heart to say this but with college and nail art classes going on at the same time, my schedule is basically packed every single day so it is very hard for me to sit down and blog a proper post. But for my readers, I'll try my best to manage my time better so I can have at least an hour each day to draft out my posts :D And that's another goal I wish to achieve as well. (^^)

Happy Chinese New Year!

I missed blogging! Chinese New Year has been great for me so far with the overflowing snacks and drinks and the never-ending good movies but of course, ang paus! XD How're the celebrations going on at your place?

Although I'm on my '3-months-holiday' right now as I am waiting for my exam results to be out in March, I haven't had much time for blogging. Nail art class has taken up most of my time now and my eyes are so tired from focusing on small objects that I dread for my beauty sleep. But that doesn't stop me from my Candy Crush addiction lol!

By the way, I've recently volunteered to be a model for a photoshoot for my friend. It's a very unique concept and I'm really excited about the outcome! :D I haven't got the pictures yet as they are still under editing process but I think it will turn out great! I'm planning to do another photoshoot soon if I have the time! :D

Anyways, here's a picture of a nail art I've recently done. I love designing but I'm still not skilful enough to present them perfectly. (^^;)

Also, a huge THANK YOU for supporting my blog and still reading it despite my lack of updates. It makes me really happy to know that there are people who appreciates my efforts and it motivates me to do better! Do tell me what you want to read about so I can have more ideas to share! (^^)

Wishing my dear readers prosperity, pink of health, luck and abundance blessings in the year of the snake!

Enma Ai Inspired Look + Geo CP-S7 Review

一遍...死で見る?

Today's look is inspired by Enma Ai from the series Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl). I'm sure many of you have heard of the series before so here's a quick tutorial on achieving Enma Ai's look!

The lenses I'm wearing in this tutorial is sponsored by Mukuchu. They are Geo CP-S7 or more commonly known as the Crazy lens series. :)

Enma Ai has a porcelain look so your foundation shade can be one or two shade lighter than your normal tone. Conceal any imperfections and powder your face for a matte finish.

For certain cosplay makeup, I would draw on the eyeliner first so that applying eyeshadow will be easier later. Enma Ai has very round almond eyes so drawing your eyeliner thicker on the middle area will make your eyes rounder. :)

As for this look, I wanted to create animated eyes so I drew on my lashes instead. Of course, if you prefer to put on false eyelashes as well it will still look nice. :)

Next, I used a dark brown eyeshadow and deepen my crease line to exaggerate my eyelid fold. It makes your eye larger too!

For this look, I have concealed my eyebrows and drew on thin curved eyebrows like Enma Ai's. It's always good to have a reference picture nearby when you apply makeup for cosplays. (^^) For thin eyebrows, I would prefer using a small angle brush for definition.

I have also shaded my nose with a brown eyeshadow which is slightly darker than my everyday makeup to make my nose look thin and sharp. Remember to highlight your nose bridge too to bring out more dimension!

Also, if you want to create even larger eyes, line your waterline and the area below your eyes with a white pencil eyeliner.I have pearl white eyeliner only but I think that matte white eyeliner would look much better!

Finish up your look with light pink lipstick and clear lipgloss! I skipped blusher for this look as Enma Ai always look pale so I wanted to keep that look too. :)

Colour/design: ★★★★
The colour of these lenses are very vibrant! Perfect for cosplays and parties! The lenses have a black rim on the outer area and a smaller ring design at the inner area so they actually blend pretty well and create a dolly effect. (^^)

Comfort: ★★
I find these rather uncomfortable when I first worn them. The inner rim is pretty small that I can actually see the red rim when I wore them. It takes a while to get used to so these are not for fussy people.

Enlargement: ★★★
These lenses are only 14.00mm so I didn't have much expectations for the enlarging part. But the design makes it look dolly hence creating an enlarging illusion. :)

It's my first time wearing red lens and I actually like them XD I'm planning to cosplay characters with red eyes this year so I can wear these at anime conventions!

Thank you Mukuchu for sponsoring me these lenses! :D

Singapore January 2013

Never would I have thought that I'd be back in Singapore again so soon. This time taking up the role as a 'tour guide' again to bring my aunt and my grandma around the country.

This time it was a shorter trip compared to the previous one but I get to meet up my friend and my other aunt who lives in Singapore as well. The warm feeling you get while visiting a foreign country and meeting people you know there is so wonderful. :)

Of course, I did quite a lot of Chinese New Year shopping this time so I came back with lots of new clothes, shoes, bag and skin care products! I'm all ready for Chinese New Year! :D

I didn't get to see the Merlion upclose last time so I made it one of my priorities this round. I think travellers should not miss out this iconic statue at The Lion City. :) I had initially assumed that the size of the Merlion is much larger... (^^;)

We took the longer route of walking towards Marina Bay Sands instead of getting on the MRT. Fascinating view to me but the long walk was very tiring for my grandma and my aunt. I guess I made a mistake of suggesting us to walk there. (._.;)

Gardens by the Bay night view.

Shopping is the most exciting part of this trip to me! :D I went to Far East Plaza, Takashimaya, 313@Somerset and of course, Bugis Street! I never get tired of the fashion boutiques in Singapore, haha!

Met my friend in Singapore! It was fun shopping together and getting cheaper deals together at Bugis Street. Thank you for spending your time with me and taking me around! :D

This time we took a bus instead of flying. Not because of what happened to me on my previous trip but taking a bus is a cheaper alternative. Ironically, there was only 6 passengers on board. (^^;)

I'm glad to be back to Singapore again, it never fails to lift up my mood. :) I do hope that this year I will get to travel to more places overseas. (^^)

Last cosplays of 2012

My Comic Fiesta cosplay preparation was so far the worst. It wasn't as fun as my previous cosplays because I had to rush everything within a week's time. Yet I am happy to have them done although my day 1 cosplay received lots of damage (T T)

Do read my previous posts on Comic Fiesta too. (^^) Part 1 Part 2

Met up with my fellow cosplay friends on Day 1 morning. You can't see it here but I was having a costume malfunction day with my 'supposedly-thigh-high-socks'. I had to change out of my costume by noon and drag myself back home with nearly blistered feets. (T T)

Met several schoolmates and here's one of the pictures we took (^^)

Day 1's cosplay as Maria Kurenai was a failure to me. I plan to improve it for future events soon! :D

Day 2's cosplay was Ririchiyo Shirakiin which was a last minute plan as I've mentioned before. Overslept on that day so I met up with my friends at lunch time and we had our own 'photoshoot' at the KLCC park. (^^) But it was really sunny that day our makeup melted in no time > <

One of the shots which I love! Taken with phone camera and editied in photoshop. I only noticed the fallen strap while editing! > <

Ky Li who cosplayed as Lucy Heartfilia from the popular series Fairy Tail! My initial plan for Comic Fiesta was to cosplay as Wendy Marvell but due to certain circumstances I wasn't able to cosplay as her BUT I will do so this year! :D

So how much damage in my cosplay for Comic Fiesta?

Lost a button for my Maria Kurenai costume, had problems with Maria's socks and tore my purple lens for Ririchiyo cosplay on the morning of Day 2 itself. I ended up wearing blue lens (the above picture was photoshopped).

To sum up my cosplay for 2012, I have cosplayed 5 different characters in a year and the one which I enjoyed the most is actually my Konata cosplay. I personally prefer costumes which is easy to move around in and does not have much problem throughout the whole day. (^^;)
